octopuses and squids can camouflage to warn, signal, fight, hide and to hunt, but it makes 100 camouflage decisions in a two hour foraging. It also has these bump on its back that is called a papillae, the papillae helps the octopus create a 3d texture to change the skin, the papillae is also malleable. The octopus can mimic a lot of things, it can mimic seaweed, it can mimic mostly all the plants in the sea. It only takes 5 seconds to 1 for some octopuses to camouflage.

600 million years ago we were all the same bacteria and that was called a common denominator then we split apart and turned into different things like octopuses and humans and that was called a divergent path but when you are on the same path that is called an evolutionary pathway.
