Making otai

Last week on Friday R8 was successfully made yummy otai and keke/donut. We used fifteen fresh green apples, one bag of ice, three boxes of anchor milk, one can of mango pulp and one can of pineapple crushed. First we grabbed a big white container, then put the ice into the white container, opened the three boxes of milk and added to the container. After that we poured the can of mango pulp and the can of pineapple crushed too. Next some of the boys peeled the green apples with a peeler. Once they peeled the green apples they put it into a black bowl ready to be washed before the girls grated them. After they peeled one green apple Miss Tafea would use a small sharp knife to take out the apple's core. Miss Tafea also showed the Lily and Vaiola how to grate the green apples with the grater. The girls then grated all the fresh green apples into the container. We finally mixed the otai with some brown sugar. Stirred it with a big spoon, after we stirred it we got to drink and eat it with the de. It was delicious. Image result for tongan donutImage result for otai

flying kites

On the 7th of february it was a bright sunny day a perfect day to fly a kite cause it was windy.R8 went to R6 to make kites.

The teacher in R6 Miss Shama told us how to make a kite out of paper, string and skewers. So we all went away to go cut the paper, but first we had to fold it. After we cut the paper we used the skewers to put the through the holes that we made in the paper. Then attached the string to 2 pieces of paper that was rolled up for our handel.

After we finished making the kites we tidied up because it was very messy. After we cleaned up we all went out for morning tea. When we get back from morning tea we all played outside with our kites. I was excited because I haven't played with a kite for a long time. unfortunately my one broke so I put it in the bin.

When we get back from flying the kites I was exhausted so R8 went back to class for lunch.
