went overseas to help the soldiers inside France by giving them medical help.  But none of them were really trained to help so they just randomly got people .Only one quarter of them helped them to recover and a third were in New Zealand. The kids  peeled vegetables to make soup. The kids were also able to help deliver food. The adults would make coffins for the dead and also makeshift ambulances. Other people drove their cars as makeshift ambulances or built coffins for the dead. Lilla was the daughter of the clergyman in Christchurch. by the end of the war, the flu started spreading around New Zealand,  And untrained volunteers and kids started to help. Kids such as boy scouts started and they started delivering food around the city  To help people that are in need. And many people such as doctors were helping soldiers to get cured. when the flu hit a third of the doctors and almost a quarter of the nurses in New Zealand were overseas helping in the war. So adults and kids did some of the jobs boy some built a coffin and made food they also cleaned the dishes boy scouts delivered food to house to house. lilla leach was the daughter of a Clergyman in Christchurch she did work to.
