earthquake explanation text

What is an earthquake? An earthquake is shock waves making cracks in the floor and making buildings houses fall down and break. It mostly hapens with to two tectonic plates fight.
Why do earthquakes happen?  An earthquake is when two is when two tectonic plates is fights for the top when one tectonic plates wins and one tectonic plate is at the bottom it creates shock waves and makes the buildings vibrates and breaks.

Where do Earthquakes happen? Earthquake mostly happen in the ring of fire. It is mostly there because of the movement. Also because there is a lot of fault lines. Fault lines are were heaps of earthquake happen to.


What is the impact of Earthquakes?
One of the impacts are landslides. Landslides are when dirt detaches to the soil and falls down. It could break a building and hurt someone like someone can get bared in the dirt by it.
Another one is liquefaction. Liquefaction is crooked soil when the soil is crooked it makes the the buildings and cities to falls down and break and people might be in there and might get hurt.

How are earthquakes measured? We use richter scale. Richter scale are something counts up to ten is permanent and zero is not felt.
